There's a Monster in My Closet
As I walk over to the closet door, I very reluctantly put my hand on the door knob. I am scared, but I know I have to do this. I can’t continue to sleep in my room with this monster in my closet. He has to go. I turn the knob and open the door slowly. The first thing I see is his bright yellow eyes staring back at me. They are not only bright yellow; they are big, round and remind me of a fly’s eyes. He tilts his orange, raindrop shaped head to the right as if he is trying to figure out what I am. The way is bushy black hair sits on top of his head, I am afraid it is going to fall off. He takes a step toward me and I take about five steps back. His blue legs and green webbed feet seem to shake as he walks out of the closet. Is he as afraid of me as I am of him, or is he struggling to hold up his somewhat round, orange body? The first thing I notice once he is out of the closet is my red bow tie around his neck. He must have taken it off my dance costume and put it on. Just when I am about to scream for help, he holds out one of his blue arms as if he wants to shake my hand. I was a little reluctant to shake his green hand, because I was still afraid and I was not sure how to shake a hand that only has three fingers with very sharp nails. I extend my arm to his and he grabs my hand. It seemed to be a very friendly gesture even though he never smiled and continued to show me his two vampire teeth. I guess he can stay.
